Free Neurodiversity Awareness and Workplace Inclusion Training in the Midlands
We are delighted to announce that BASE, in partnership with Inclusive Trading CIC, will be delivering specialized Neurodiversity Awareness and Workplace Inclusion Training sessions for employers and support staff throughout March and April 2025.
These highly valuable, free online training sessions are fully funded by the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) through their Thrive At Work programme. The sessions are intended to directly support the WMCA in their core ambition: making sure that young people with neurodiverse conditions have significantly better chances to secure meaningful employment and lead healthier, more successful lives.
Neurodiversity Awareness and Workplace Inclusion for Employers
Session Times: 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM (Various dates available)
These employer-focused sessions will include insightful discussions, practical everyday tips, and strategic guidance on how to lead the way in inclusive recruitment and long-term retention practices. Key topics include:
- The evolving language and terminology of neurodiversity
- Building a strong business case for neurodivergent inclusion in your workplace
- Myth-busting and exploring the “art of the possible” when recruiting and retaining neurodivergent staff

Supporting Young People on their Career Pathway Training
Session Times: 09:30 AM – 1:00 PM or 1:30 PM – 5:00 PM (Various dates available)
Designed for any support staff who are actively helping young neurodivergent people navigate their career journey. This session will share essential hints, practical tips, and tools for working with young people and helping them confidently overcome the specific barriers they face. Key topics include:
- Understanding the nuances of the language of neurodiversity
- Exploring employment pathways and how we can better support individuals
- Working effectively with employers and articulating the business case for supported employment
